We invited our parents to come stay the weekend with us and go to our first little picture session. It's called Focused Within in Knoxville, TN, that does 4D Ultrasound packages (purely an elective session....nothing medical about it). It was an hour long session, and I can already tell this little boy is stubborn. He kept his back to us the majority of the time, but we were able to get a few good shots of his face in (when he didn't have his hands covering it up). We tried a number of things to get him to turn where we could see him: jiggling my tummy, tapping on it, rolling me over from side to side, ringing a bell at my tummy....he never budged until the very end. It was such an amazing experience --- now we need to put a name with that face...

Doctor Visit 1.28.09
GREAT NEWS! We just got back from our visit with the specialist. What showed in our last 2 ultrasounds on the baby's kidneys actually weren't cysts. They were the openings to the bladder (the ureters), and they were showing because they were enlarged from being filled with fluid (which the doctor says is not unusual in little boys). We are so relieved that everything is fine & we very much appreciate all the prayers! God sure is good!!!!!

Doctor Visit 1.21.09
We had another monthly check-up yesterday as well as another ultrasound to check the cysts on baby's kidneys. They're still there (2 -- 1 on each kidney). However, they are smaller than on our last check-up, and they still seem to be functioning properly (based on the urine and fluid levels). The doctor went ahead and referred us to a high-risk specialist so that they can take a closer look. We are scheduled there next Wednesday. In the meantime, everything else looks great & we're praying everything will be fine with his kidneys. Keep us in your prayers, please!

We had another ultrasound done, and that little boy sure was rowdy! You'll notice we already have a little thumb sucker on our hands! He kicked quite a bit during this one. The ultrasound tech noticed some little cysts on his kidneys, and showed them to the doctor incase we needed to see a specialist. The doctor wasn't concerned, and said these often go away by the next ultrasound. He said the baby's bladder being full could've caused the ultrasound to look like cysts, so he'll just check it again at our next appt. He weighed in at 13oz.
