Pryce's belly button fell off on 5.13.09, so we tested out a tub bath on 5.14.09. He didn't love it; I think he may have been a little startled about the warm water. We're slowly adjusting, though. Hopefully he'll grow to love baths as much as his mommy!

A Whale of a Good Time!

2 Weeks Old
I'm amazed at how much I love someone I only met 2 weeks ago! Pryce has rocked our world, and we couldn't be more head over heels for him. He's already so alert! His daddy loves to raise his eyebrows and stick out his tongue so that Pryce will do it back to him. It's adorable, especially to see how good Luke is with Pryce. He's already grown so much (you can tell from my mom's little experiment with the stuffed animals in the crib).
This is the most fun and exciting little roller coaster & it's all going by so fast!

Pryce's Debut

He finally made it here May 1, 2009 at 8:26pm
8lb 3oz
20 1/2"
Luke and I arrived at Erlanger East on Friday, May 1, 2009, at 5:00am to be induced. When we got there, all the rooms were full (there were several new mommies that went into labor during the night that night), and we waited downstairs while they got a room ready for us. We went upstairs at 6:00am and I immediately changed into a hospital gown, the nurse started my IV, and the pitocin started flowing at 6:35am. I was already having some mild contractions (but couldn't feel them). The pitocin kept coming, and by 11:30am, the contractions were getting pretty uncomfortable. I was still only 2-3 cm dilated, so they increased my pitocin. Around 2:00pm, the contractions were more than just a little uncomfortable, so I asked for the epidural. I was 4cm at that point, and the anesthesiologist came to my rescue at 3:00pm. That epidural is something magical! Now that I was feeling great, it was just a waiting game. I was checked again at 4:00pm and was only 5 cm. Then, at 6:00pm, my doctor came in to check and said we would start pushing at 6:30. That happened to be a little too close to shift change, so the new nurse came in to start pushing a little after 7:00pm. We pushed for a little over an hour, and Pryce was here at 8:26pm! It is an unexplainable experience, and Luke and I are just beside ourselves with Pryce. It's the closest thing to heaven I've experienced, and I think it's only going to get better as he grows!

Doctor Visit 4.24.09
Well, the countdown has begun! We'll be admitted to the hospital Friday (May 1) at 5:00 am if Pryce isn't already here by then! The doctor said I was very favorable for an induction, so we went ahead and scheduled for next week. I think we were both a little overwhelmed and shocked once we realized Pryce will be here next week (even though that's already 39 weeks). We can't wait to meet this precious baby!

'P' is for...Procrastination???
My friends Courtney, Jill, and Kacy threw a baby shower for us in Chattanooga on 3.21.09. It was again a humbling experience to see how kind and generous everyone is, and Luke & I are just overwhelmed at how blessed we are to be surrounded by such wonderful people.
I'm not sure if it's because there just isn't enough time in the day when I go to bed at 8:30 pm, or if I am more procrastinator than planner (which never before occured to me), but we're constantly busy and not really feeling like we're getting much accomplished.
We finally decided on a name for the little guy on 3.18.09 -- Pryce Faulkner. It was always a front runner on our list, which helped us confirm the decision.
We also have been trying to get the nursery organized. Still working on the drapes and we have more stuff to 'put together' than we know what to do with. I guess that will be some practice for all those late Christmas Eves.
We have felt so blessed during this time. So many people have been so encouraging, generous, helpful, and we're overwhelmed at how thoughtful everyone has been!
We're at 36 weeks, and counting the days. We're so ready for Pryce to get here!
